Peter M. Smith

Denmark, Maine – Mr. Peter M. Smith of Denmark died on Friday, January 21, 2005. He was 50. Born in Waltham, Peter graduated from Waltham High School. He worked as a mechanic for his father’s company in New Hampshire for 18 years. He then moved to Denmark, Maine where he worked as a builder for the past 10 years. Peter enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, skiing and scuba diving. He was the brother of the late Edward J. Smith, Jr. He is survived by his parents, Marilyn (Gness) Smith of Waltham and Edward J. Smith of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida; four children, Casey M. Sevene of Billerica, Peter M. Smith, Jr. of Waltham and Ariane and Nicole Smith, both of Manchester, NH; his identical twin brother, Paul D. Smith of Bradford; 3 grandchildren, Jarred and Joshua Sevene and Wesley Newsam, his longtime companion Catherine O'Neil of Denmark, Maine, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
