Mr. Peter D. Tousignant, of Waltham, died on Monday, February 20, 2018 in Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waltham. He was 90.
Peter was born in Medford on April 7, 1927, the son of the late David and Helen (Purcell) Tousignant. Peter proudly served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the VFW. He was a manufacturing engineer who retired from Baird Atomic. During his free time, he enjoyed going to Foxwoods with his wife, spending time with his family, and going to dinner at the Chateau. Peter was friendly, well liked by all and was a fantastic story teller. He enjoyed civil war history, shopping for a good bargain and teaching his grandchildren math tricks. He felt fortunate to have survived the war and was thankful for the wonderful family he was blessed with.
He was the beloved husband of the late Anne M. (Demsky) Tousignant and is survived by his children, Peter Tousignant (Judy) of Randolph, Joan T. Dubie of Buffalo, New York, Carol A. Kendrick of Hopkinton and Jean M. Claffey (Mark) of Burlington and Chatham; his grandchildren, William Yundt (Laura), Lucy Diluiso (Michael), Amy Franklin (Joshua), Leah Dubie (Megan Reath), Allison Harrington (Matthew), Anne Maguire (Patrick), Sarah Kendrick, Jason Claffey (Leslie), Jenna Carey (Greg), Megan Claffey and Rachel Claffey and also leaves five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John Tousignant.
Family and friends will honor and remember Peter's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, February 26 from 4 to 8 p.m.. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
