Philip J. Ayotte

May 12, 1928 — May 12, 2014

Waltham – Mr. Philip J. Ayotte, Sr., of Waltham, died on Monday May 12, 2014 in Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham on his 86th birthday.

Phil was born in Lowell on May 12, 1928, a son of the late Donat and Regina (Cloutier) Ayotte. He attended both Lowell High School and St. Mary's High School. Shortly after his graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during World War II. Phil worked hard to provide for his family and spent the majority of his career working as a facilities engineer at M/A-Com Corporation in Burlington. He loved to spend time outdoors and fishing and hunting were two of his passions. Time spent with his family was most important and trips north to either Maine or New Brunswick were treasured.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M. 'Betty' (Moffitt) Ayotte and is survived by his children, William J. Ayotte and his wife, Heidi, of Waltham, Philip J. 'P.J.' Ayotte, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Framingham and Kevin Ayotte of Newbury; his grandchildren, Dolan, Natalie, Shane, Kimberly and Kenneth Ayotte; his sister, Jeanne Stack of Lowell; his daughter-in-law Denise Ayotte and his nephew and niece James and Carol Stack.

He was also the father of the late Stephen M. Ayotte and father-in-law of the late Theresa Ayotte.
