Philomena T. 'Phyllis' Cotone

Waltham - Miss Philomena T. ‘Phyllis’ Cotone, of Waltham, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Marsthill Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 85.

Phyllis was born in Waterown on August 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Ruggiero) Cotone and had lived in Watertown for most of her life before moving to Waltham eight years ago. Until her retirement she had worked for many years as a clerical worker for Star Market. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and playing bingo. She was also a graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School in Watertown.

She leaves her sister, Caroline M. Parello of Waltham; her brother, William J. Cotone and his wife, Katherine, of Waltham; her sister-in-law, Mary Cotone of Watertown and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
