Phyllis B. Magnuson

Waltham - Mrs. Phyllis B. (Dahlin) Magnuson of Waltham, died Monday, September 5, 2011 in the Emerson Nursing Home in Watertown. She was 87.

Phyllis was born in Waltham on August 8, 1924, a daughter of the late John A. and Ruth (Olson) Dahlin and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and worked at the B.C. Ames Company and for Jordan Marsh. Phyllis was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waltham and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She was also a talented gardener.

The wife of the late Russell Magnuson, she leaves her sister, Ruth L. Lovequist of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late John A. Dahlin, Jr., Elaine Lewis and Kenneth Dahlin.

Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis' life by gathering to visit from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday morning in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham, where graveside services will be held at 11 a.m.
