Brighton – Ms. Phyllis V. Peterson, of Brighton, died Friday March 15, 2019 at CareOne at Newton. She was 79.
Phyllis was born in Boston on January 13, 1940, a daughter of the late James and Mabel (Chace) Peterson. She grew up in Malden, a 1957 graduate of Cheverus Centennial High School and earned her diploma from the Malden Hospital School of Nursing.
Phyllis dedicated her live to helping others, working for many years in nursing homes as a nursing assistant and volunteered weekly at the local soup kitchen in retirement.
She leaves her brother, Phillip Peterson, of Arlington and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis's life by gathering for her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19th in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 62 Harvard Avenue, Allston. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
