Mrs. Phyllis M. (McDonald) Warren, of Bourne and formerly of Waltham, died on Wednesday August 7, 2019. She was 89. Phyllis was born in West Newton on March 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Cox) McDonald.
She graduated from St. Charles High School in Waltham and had been a resident of the city until a move to the Cape five years ago. She had been very active in various organizations including the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 156 and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 10334 where she had served as past president. Before her retirement she had worked as a supervisor for many years at Technical Communications in Concord. Phyllis was very close with her sister Pat and remained a constant source of support for her nieces and nephews, Margaret, Charles, Patrick, Frank, Bridget, Matt and Harry after Patricia's death. She loved to spend time with her family and one of her favorite trips was their almost yearly excursion to Las Vegas.
She was the wife of the late George F. Warren and is survived by her daughters, Pamela A. Hill (Phillip) of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Cheryl L. Hurley (William Swires) of Cotuit; her grandchildren, Ronald, Eugena, Angela, Kerri, Tricia and Michael and also leaves 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Phyllis M. Anderson and Bruce F. Warren and sister of the late Patricia A. Hogan and Margaret M. McDonald.
Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis' life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, August 11th from 3 to 6 p.m. and again at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
