Waltham – Mrs. Phyllis W. (Walsh) Zukatynski died, Friday, October 19, 2012 in the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center in Natick. She was 93.
Phyllis was born in Waltham on March 28, 1919, a daughter of the late John J. and Mildred S. (Bellis) Walsh, and had been a lifelong resident.
She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and worked as an administrative assistant for a number of years at the Social Security office in Waltham. She was long-time parishioner of Saint Mary's Church and later at Our Lady's Church in Waltham. Phyllis also enjoyed spending many happy summers with her family in Wells, Maine.
The wife of the late Joseph F. Zukatynski, she leaves her children, Elizabeth 'Betsy' Bruscia and her husband, James, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania and Philip J. Zukatynski and his wife, Virginia, of Berlin; her grandson, Joseph Caputo; her step-granddaughter Sandra Bedford; her step-great-grandchildren Felicia Wheeler-Lowe and Brendon Comerford and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was also a sister of the late Elizabeth 'Betty' Butler, Louise Davis, and Pauline Royal.
Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis' life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, October 22nd, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
