Raymond Lawrence Bilodeau, of Waltham and previously of Dover, passed away peacefully at age 94 on June 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Carolyn for 54 years, father of Melissa (Michael) and Phil, and grandfather of Sage, Julia, Alexandra, and Drew.
Though outwardly a quiet man, Ray lived a full and generous life by serving his country, family, and community with love, faith, and commitment. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War before graduating from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and then working for Raytheon (subsequently GTE) on government military defense programs. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Throughout his career, his wife and family were always first and foremost - his legacy of loving and joyous dedication to them is inspirational. And for those who knew him well, his subtle and clever sense of humor, enthusiasm for the Red Sox, skill at all sorts of board games and cards with friends, and passion for lifelong learning and travel will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends will honor and remember Raymond’s life by gathering for visitation on Monday, July 8th beginning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. and then a reception. Burial will be Tuesday, July 9th in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15 a.m.
