Waltham – Mr. Raymond F. D’Argento, of Waltham, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 in The Stanley Tippett House in Needham. He was 58.
Ray was born on April 3, 1952 in Newton, a son of Theresa M. (Brescia) D’Argento of West Newton and the late Russell N. D’Argento. He was raised and educated in Newton and graduated from Newton North High School, class of 1970. He graduated from St. Michael’s College in Burlington, Vermont and later earned in his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts – Lowell.
Ray worked for many years as a pharmaceutical sales representative.
A talented artist he was most skilled at oil painting. Many of his works are on display at Watch City Brewing Company on Moody Street. His family collectively sings praise for his ‘Starry Starry Night’ which was his painted interpretation of Van Gogh’s famous painting. Extremely motivated, challenge orientated and with an eagerness to travel and learn, Ray traveled to Italy and Germany and later became fluent in both languages.
In addition to his mother, Theresa M. (Brescia) D’Argento of West Newton, he leaves his brothers, Russell T. D’Argento and his wife, Joanne, of Ashland, Richard J. D’Argento and his wife, Brigette, of West Palm Beach, Florida and Frank J. D’Argento of Waltham; his nieces and nephews, Russell and Nicole D’Argento, Richard and Nicholas D’Argento and Kevin D’Argento; aunts and uncles including Frank R. D’Argento of Newton and his former wife, Renee' M. (DiCicco) D’Argento of Pepperell.
Family will gather to honor and remember Ray privately. There are no calling hours.
