Sudbury – Mr. Raymond L. Keaveney, of Sudbury, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at Oak Knoll Health Care Center in Framingham. He was 89.
Ray was born in Waltham on May 19, 1925, a son of the late Martin J. and Catherine Josephine (Rogers) Keaveney. He was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham.
During World War II he worked as a welder at the Charlestown Navy Yard and then for many years after that owned and operated gas stations in Hyde Park and in Cochituate. After that Ray went to work as an auto body man and retired ten years ago as an auto salesman.
He leaves his children, Raymond L. Keaveney, Jr. of Sudbury, Joanne Cassis of Milton and Patricia Mucciaccio of Walpole; his brother and sisters, Martin J. Keaveney, Jr. of Shrewsbury, Marie Robins of Center Harbor, New Hampshire, Dorothy Mercier of Storrs, Connecticut, Madeline Bradley of Pembroke Pines, Florida; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was also a brother of the late Bernadette Healey and Sr. Patricia Keaveney, SND.
Family and friends will honor and remember Raymond's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
