Waltham – Mr. Raymond V. Raynor, of Burlington, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 49.
Ray was born in Waltham on October 3, 1961 and had been a lifelong resident before moving to Burlington a year ago. A 1980 graduate of Waltham High School, he had worked as a computer operator for Hachette Publishing Company in Boston. He began working for the company when he was 19 and it was known as Little-Brown & Company with its headquarters in Waltham. Ray was a sports, movie and t.v. aficionado – he followed with great interest the goings on with the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots. He was also an expert on the history and the details of movies and television series, old and new.
Ray was the son of Virginia M. (Sinerate) Raynor and the late Raymond V. Graceffa and was the adopted son of the late Warren H. Raynor.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his sisters, Ellen L. Looney and her husband, Eugene, of Burlington and Mary E. Raimo and her husband, John, of Wakefield and his nieces and nephews, Brendan and Catrina Looney and Jacob and Jordan Ashley Raimo.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ray’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 14th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
