Watertown – Mrs. Regina T. (Iannazzi) Riccio, of Watertown, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her home. She was 96.
Regina was born in Watertown on March 15, 1917, a daughter of the late Angelo and Teresa (Quaranto) Iannazzi, and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she worked for a number of years as a lab assistant at Brandeis University in Waltham.
Before her career began at Brandeis she was a local cosmetologist and hairdresser. Always one to keep busy, Regina volunteered at the Perkins School in Watertown and worked part-time at various supermarkets as a food and product demonstrator.
Her husband, Vincent J. Riccio, Sr. died July 9, 1981.
Regina leaves her children, Vincent J. Riccio, Jr. of Foxborough, Teresa R. Greco of Revere, Paula Danforth of Cotuit and Mary T. Alberico of Sudbury; her grandchildren, James Danforth, Paul Danforth, Eric Danforth, Leonard Alberico, Paul Alberico, James Riccio, Megan Riccio, Melissa Riccio, Steven Greco and Kimberly Hurtado; her great-grandchildren, Joshua Danforth, Vanessa Danforth, Kalvin Danforth, Sherri Danforth, Joseph Alberico, Emma Hurtado, Joshua Hurtado, Alexander Greco and Josephine Greco; her sisters and brother, Rose Scotti, Josephine DeLeo, both of Winchester and Paul Iannazzi of Lexington and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late Paula Marie Danforth and a sister of the late Cosmo Iannazzi and Cosmo 'Mimi' Iannazzi.
Family and friends will honor and remember Regina's life by gathering to visit from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 23rd in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
