Rene F. Romero

Waltham - Mr. Rene F. Romero, of Waltham, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 68.

Rene was born in La Paz, Bolivia, on March 28, 1943, a son of the late Rene and Honoria (Perez) Romero, and had lived in Bolivia for many years until moving to Waltham in 1980. He was an accountant for many years at The Olympia Club in Bolivia and when he came to Waltham he worked for Grover Cronin’s as an assembler. He enjoyed playing soccer, chess, cards and traveling.

He leaves his wife, Ana Maria (Caballero) Romero; his children, Ivan Romero of Burlington, Pamela Romero of Allston, and Grace Romero of Bolivia; his brother and sisters, Jaimie Delaencar, Blanca Miranda, Elizabeth Delaencar, and Janet Delaencar, all of Waltham; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rene’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday, April 26th, from 6 – 9 p.m. where his funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
