Waltham – Mr. Richard A. ‘Rick’ Barter, of Waltham, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at his home. He was 53.<br><br>He was the husband of Geraldine L. ‘Gerrie’ (Cormier) Barter.<br><br>Born in Waltham, a son of Marjorie A. (Short) Barter of Waltham and the late Arthur H. Barter, he was raised and educated in Watertown. Rick was a longtime resident of Waltham and had worked as a chef at Brandeis University in Waltham for the past twenty-six years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and in his spare time enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson. He was also an avid outdoorsman and liked to fish.<br><br>In addition to his wife and his mother, Rick leaves his children, Jacqueline Terrazes of Texas, Richard Barter of North Carolina, Kimberly Kerr of Boxboro, Janine Barter of Clinton, U.S. Army Spec. Christopher Barter, and James Barter, both of Waltham; his brothers and sister, Arthur Barter of Texas, Beverly Rainville of Berlin, Robert Barter of New Hampshire and Alan Barter of Middleton, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10 a.m. Friday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.<br><br>Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.<br><br>Memorial donations may be made to Partners Hospice, 281 Winter Street, Suite 200, Waltham, MA 02451.<br>
