Waltham - Mr. Richard J. Gaudet, of Waltham and Manomet, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. He was 78. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Camille J. and Mary J. (LaFrenier) Gaudet, Richard worked for twenty-eight years as a supervisor in the Building and Trade Department for the Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge until his retirement in 1988. Richard was a member of the Arlington Men’s Club and the Waltham Ballroom Dance Club. He liked to travel, and was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Richard was a Korean War veteran serving with the United States Army. He was the brother of the late Wilfred, Roger, Norman, and Gilbert Gaudet. He leaves his wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy A. (Robinson) Gaudet; his children, Pamela R. Marsocci of Pittsford, New York, Steven A. Gaudet of Lynn, Kenneth R. Gaudet of Goffstown, New Hampshire, James J. Gaudet of Parker, Colorado, and Lisa M. Pavilaitis of Rouses Point, New York; one brother, Henry Gaudet of Palm Coast, Florida; one sister, Eleanor Bowley of Upton; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Mary’s Restoration Fund, 133 School Street, Waltham, MA 02451.
