Waltham – Richard J. "Dick" Gullotti, of Waltham, died on December 30, 2021 in Maristhill Nursing Home. He was 84.
Dick was born in Waltham on March 9, 1937, the son of the late James and Stella (Patuto) Gullotti.
Always one to stay active he belonged to the Waltham Moose Lodge #1018, The Sons of Italy in Waltham, and The Knights of Columbus. He was a life-long resident of Waltham and before his retirement he had worked as an attorney on Main Street.
He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Lee (Havener) Gullotti and is survived by his son, Gregory J. Gullotti, and Gregory's long time partner Paula McNiece, both of Waltham, his sister Joan (Gullotti) Paquette, his nieces Linda (Paquette) Bonarrigo, Patricia Paquette, his nephew Ralph Paquette, and his late nephew James Paquette. Dozens of extended family members will remember him as "Uncle Richard" or as a 2nd or 3rd cousin, Great-Uncle, etc, and his many joyful good times celebrating life with them through the years. Dick was an avid Boston Sports fan, particularly following the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He and his late wife Sandra were also very fond of trips to casinos, be it Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, or on special occasions those found in Atlantic City, NJ and Las Vegas, NV.
Richard was a long time parishioner of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church in Waltham, having volunteered his time there over the years as a CCD ("Sunday School") teacher, and Eucharistic Minister both at the church and later making house calls for those parishioners who could no longer attend mass in person due to illness or age.
He was also the brother of the late Thomas R. Gullotti.
In the words of his son, Gregory, he was "the embodiment of love and generosity to family, friends, and even total strangers. He will be sorely missed".
A Funeral Mass for Dick will be held on Friday, January 21st at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham.
