Richard Irving Knowles

Charlton – Mr. Richard I. Knowles of Charlton, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday February 8, 2004 at the Masonic Home in Charlton. He was 96. Born in Malden, a son of the late James P. and Emma S. (Coones) Knowles, he was raised in Concord. He lived in Waltham for 64 years where he worked as a machinist for various companies. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church of Waltham and the Monitor Lodge A.F. & A.M. of the Masons. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Etta (Bailey) Knowles of Charlton and a sister, Emily C. Norgalh of Maynard. He was the brother of the late Richard, Charles, Chester, Herbert, John and James Knowles and Mary Stapled. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday February 11th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Hill Road, Charlton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Acton at a later date.
