Richard H. Lally

West Yarmouth – Mr. Richard H. Lally of West Yarmouth, formerly of Waltham died Friday February 27, 2004 at his home. He was 81. Born in Waltham, Mr. Lally spent many years in Waltham before moving to West Yarmouth in 1973. He was the Director of The Employers Group of Motor Freight Carriers. He was a Trustee of the Machinists Union and a late member of the Local 25. Mr. Lally was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy as a member of a P.T. Boat Squadron. He was also a member of the American Legion in Hyannis. He leaves his wife, Rita P. (McKenzie) Lally of West Yarmouth; his children, Richard W. Lally and his wife Nancy and R. Kevin Lally and his wife Bonnie, all of Waltham; 3 grandchildren, Kristin DallaCosta, Erin LaCasse and Brian Lally; 6 great-grandchildren, John Lally, Casey DallaCosta, Michael Lally, Brian DallaCosta, Taylor and Madelyn LaCasse and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ruth Higgins, Mary Lou Gordon and Joan Waters. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 270 Communications Way, Hyannis, MA 02601.
