Waltham – Mr. Richard P. Little, of Waltham, died Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 85.
Dick was born in Boston on January 17, 1937, a son of the late Arthur and Ann (Norton) Little and was raised in Waltham. After graduating from Saint Charles High School he served with the United States Air Force.
Following his discharge from the service Dick took a job as a fire alarm operator with the City of Waltham and retired in 1992 after thirty-two in that position. Retirement afforded him the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and to indulge his passion for golf. He was a member of Wayland Country Club for more than twenty years.
He leaves his children, Michael T. Little (Patricia) of West Newton and Matthew Little (Alyssa) of Natick; his grandchildren, Johnny, Kelly, Colin, Caitlin and Jayson Little; his longtime companion, Jeanne Genova of Sudbury; his brother and sister, Robert Little of New Hampshire and Margaret Baldero of Falmouth and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was also the brother of the late Sr. Ruth Little, C.S.J., Evelyn O'Neil, and Marion Quinlan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dick's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday morning, June 30th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
