Waltham – Mr. Richard E. Lussier, of Waltham, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 73.
Richard was born in Waltham on April 29, 1941, a son of the late Thomas E. and Frances (Reynolds) Lussier, and had been a lifelong resident. After graduating from Waltham Vocational High School he joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.
Following his discharge from the service Richard went to East Coast Aero Technical School and combined that training with knowledge gained in the military and began a lifelong career as an aircraft mechanic for General Electric Aviation at their Lynn plant. Richard loved going to movies. His favorite was the Star Wars Trilogy series. He was also a fan of 50's Rock n 'Roll and hockey.
He leaves his wife, Kathleen (MacDonald) Lussier; his children, Kris A. Lussier of St. Petersburg, Florida and Michelle L. Blackstock and her husband, Bill, of Haverhill; his brothers and sister, Robert Lussier of Berlin, William Lussier of Lynn and Karen Osgood of Westford and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Richard's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home. 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 15th from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
