Bellingham – Mr. Richard R. O'Connell, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 28th at Genesis HealthCare in Milford after a period of declining health. Born in Dorchester, he was a son of the late Richard and Leota O'Connell.
He lived many years in Natick and moved to Bellingham in the eighties.
Dick was very proud of his service with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a staff sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He was an avid Red Sox fan, also of the Patriots and Boston Bruins.
He was the devoted husband of the late Bertha O'Connell, who died in 1996.
Dick leaves his daughters, Maureen O'Connell of Bellingham and Alice Belloli of Framingham, three grandchildren and one great-grandson. He also leaves his brother William O'Connell of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
He was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen O'Connell and his sisters, Margaret Walsh, Caroline Kelly and Leota Clifford.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dick's life by gathering for a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, June 4th in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham.
