Mr. Richard H. Osborn, of Marlboro, formerly of Waltham died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his home.
Dick was born in Waltham on July 23, 1924, a son of the late Harold I. and Evelyn (Pudsey) Osborn, and had been a lifelong resident before moving to Marlboro fifteen years ago. During World War II he served with the United States Navy.
Until his retirement in 1988 Dick worked as a labor relations specialist for forty years for the Raytheon Company. After that he worked for many years as chairman of the board of the RTN Credit Union in Waltham.
Dick was a member of the PFC John M. Sullivan USMC VFW Post No. 10334, the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge No. 953, all in Waltham.
The husband of the late Jeanne K. (Casey) Osborn, he leaves his children, Earl H. Osborn and his wife, Karen, of Argyule, Texas and Lynda J. Milliken and her husband, Arthur, of Marlboro; his grandchildren, Stacy Reynolds, Colleen English, Richard Milliken, Pamela VanBuskirk and Kathryn, Jennifer and Richard Osborn; his brothers and sister, Earl Osborn of Medway, Arthur Osborn of Venice, Florida and Carol Kramer of Burlington; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was also a brother of the late Shirley Cagill and Natalie Robinson.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dick’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again for his Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Saturday morning in Trinity Church, 730 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
