Waltham - Mrs. Rita M. (Scully) Francis, of Waltham, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham. She was 82.
Born in Boston, a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Reilly) Scully, Rita was a clerk for many years for the New England Telephone Company. Rita lived in Waltham for over forty years and had been a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers.
She was the wife of the late John Leo Francis and sister of the late William F. Scully, Lillian Scully, and Eleanor Hayes.
She leaves her children, Michael J. Francis and his companion, Vera Corey, of North Chelmsford, Christine M. Walsh and her husband, Raymond, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Andrew F. Walsh, Matthew J. Walsh, Stacie J. Francis and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Rita will be offered on Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street Waltham. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham.
Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 66 Newton Street Waltham, MA 02453.
