Waltham – Mrs. Rita M. (Connors) Jackson, of Waltham, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Golden Living Center in Lexington. She was 87.
Rita was born in Boston on October 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Patrick and Annie (Lardner) Connors and had been a lifelong resident of Waltham. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Jackson, the mother of the late PFC Thomas F. Jackson, USMC, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War and the sister of the late Francis Connors and Staff Sgt. Thomas F. Connors, USA, who was killed in action in Italy during World War II.
She leaves her children, Patricia A. Szydlowski of Watertown, Robert M. Jackson and his wife, Anthie, of Salem and William J. Jackson and his companion, Julie Gallant, of Hudson; her sister, Mary O'Brien of Waltham; her sister-in-law, Rita Connors of Centerville; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rita's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 7th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
