Rita L. McDonnell

Waltham – Mrs. Rita L. (Murphy) McDonnell, of Waltham, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Autumn Village Nursing Home in Worcester. She was 90. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late James and Mary (Hughes) McDonnell, Rita had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and until her retirement she worked for the Hewlett-Packard Company. The wife of the late John R. McDonnell, Sr., she leaves her children, John R. McDonnell, Jr. of Barrington, New Hampshire, James G. McDonnell and his wife, Joan, of Littleton, Mary Louise Sheehey of Woburn, Raymond P. McDonnell and his wife, Anne, of Holliston, Katherine Ann Enos and her husband, Americo, of Wilmington, David A. McDonnell of Arlington and Barbara J. Taber of Southbridge; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rita was also a sister of the late J. Leo, Raymond, Robert, Charles and Paul Murphy, Evelyn Daly, Alice Confrey, Anne Wilson and Mary LeBlanc. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
