Rita C. Megaro

Mrs. Rita C. (Peltier) Megaro, of Weston, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Wingate at Weston. She was 93.

A daughter of the late Dennis and Lillian (Dellar) Peltier, Rita was born in Marblehead on March 27, 1924 where she spent her early years.

A gifted student, Rita earned the title of Valedictorian at Marblehead High School. This early success in life would follow her into adulthood where she excelled at being a fantastic mother to her two sons. She provided her boys with copious amounts of love, a happy home and the gift of education.

Rita worked as an Executive Secretary for ConAgra foods until her retirement.

Rita enjoyed the beautiful simplicities in life. She was an avid reader and a collector of jewelry and Lladró and Hummel figurines. She very much enjoyed living in Weston for the last 36 years which provided her with much peace and happiness.

Rita was the wife of the late Col. Francis C. Megaro and a sister of the late Joseph and Sylvanius Peltier, Flora Lees and Lillian Ohlson.

She leaves her children, John J. O'Brien, of New York City and Bradford K. O'Brien (Deborah Bates), of Sanford, North Carolina; her grandson William B. O'Brien; her sister, Marion Viselli of Revere and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rita's life by gathering to visit at on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Rd., Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
