Waltham – Mrs. Rita B. (Moran) Tarullo, of Waltham, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Lahey Clinic, Burlington. She was 85. Born in Somerville, a daughter of the late John T. and Mary Ann (McCarthy) Moran, Rita graduated from Somerville High School and from Salem State Teachers College. She had been a Waltham resident for the past fifty-seven years. Rita was very active in the community and had for a number of years volunteered with the Waltham Hospital Associates where she was a longtime member of the board of directors. She was active at the senior center in Waltham and belonged to the North Waltham Senior Citizens and South Side Seniors associations. Rita was also a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society auxiliary, the Middlesex District Dental Society auxiliary and the Salem Teachers College Alumni Association. She was the wife of the late Dr. Ralph P. Tarullo, to whom she had been married for 42 years and leaves her children, Ann Marie Niemyski and her husband, Greg, of Acton and Daniel J. Tarullo of Downers Grove, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Alison M. and Gretchen E. Niemyski and Jeffrey D. and Kaitlyn P. Tarullo. She was sister of the late Marion and Joseph Moran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rita's Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Friday in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
