Waltham – Mr. Robert F. Boudreau, of Waltham, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 74.
Bob was born in Weymouth on September 14, 1940, a son of the late Robert and Ethel (Strandberg) Boudreau, and had been a Waltham resident for the past forty-six years. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School and during the Vietnam War served with the United States Army Reserve.
He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Northeastern University in Boston and a master's degree in the same subject from Western New England College. Until his retirement he worked as a systems analyst for ARCON Corporation in Waltham and before that held the same position with the MITRE Corporation in Bedford.
Bob had a lifelong passion for sports and music. He was an accomplished volleyball player and organized the popular Waltham Volleyball HITS Program, an individual skills program run at Waltham High School. He was also a talented musician who could play trombone, guitar and the banjo. His favorites were songs of the 'Big Band' era.
He leaves his children, Monique B. Boudreau and her husband, Eric Pegnam, of Medford and Evan R. Boudreau and his wife, Laura King, of Marlborough; his grandson-to-be, Jake C. Boudreau; his sisters, Marie Hoitt of Carver and Patricia Hoitt of Norwell and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, June 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning when his funeral service will be held. Burial will be private.
