Littleton – Mr. Robert A. Briganti, of Littleton, formerly of Hudson and Waltham, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Emerson Hospital in Concord.
Bob was born in Cambridge on March 27, 1952, the only child of the late Louis A. and Lorraine A. (Rano) Briganti. The Brigantis were an Army family and lived in France, Germany and in Georgia before settling in Waltham in 1961 when Bob's father retired from the service. He had also lived for a number of years in Hudson before moving to Littleton in 1998.
He graduated from Waltham High School in 1970 and four years later from Suffolk University in Boston. After that Bob served for four years with the United States Air Force and was trained as an air traffic controller, a job he continued when he rejoined civilian life. He also went to school at Western New England College where he earned a master's degree in business administration.
He had worked for Able Vending Company and at Digital Equipment Corporation before becoming a program manager for Avaya Communications. He was also a realtor for more than thirty-five years, most recently at Realty Executives – Boston West.
Bob received his pilot's license after leaving the Air Force and was a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol in Fitchburg. He loved the outdoors and created cherished memories with his family on the ski slopes, the golf course, biking, swimming and boating.
He leaves his wife, Ellen (Messier) Briganti and his children, Christopher A. Briganti and his wife, Carlie, of Sunapee, New Hampshire and Cassandra L. Briganti of Marlboro.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering to visit from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, July 28th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where his funeral service will be held at 5 p.m.
