Mr. Robert N. Cutting, of Marlborough, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at home. He was 93.
Bob was born on October 31, 1918 in Lawrence a son of the late Harry Blodgett Cutting and Marie (Zschau) Cutting. He graduated from Waltham High School and Northeastern University. He lived many years in Waltham while summering in York, Maine for over 30 years. He moved to the New Horizons Community in Marlborough several years ago.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army 26th Division, 626 Tank Destroyer Battalion and the 790th Heavy Artillery Battalion in the European Theater. Bob was instrumental in establishing veterans housing in Waltham following World War II.
Bob was employed in sales by C.W. Potter of Waltham, served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Semline in Braintree and lastly as sales manager for Reynolds-Dewalt Printing in New Bedford.
His wife, Mildred E. (Tyner) Cutting died May 27, 2010 and he is predeceased by his son, Robert N. Cutting Jr., his grandson, Michael W. David and siblings, Miriam Heffernan and Helen Tibbetts.
Bob leaves his children, Donne W. Cutting and his wife, Joan, of Stow and Marion J. David and her husband, Michael, of York, Maine; his sister, Sr. Harriet Cutting S.N.D. of Concord, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Kathryn Pooler, Susan David, Mary, Christine and Andrew Cutting and his great-granddaughter, Sammi Pooler; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering for a calling hour in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, July 16th, from 8:30 to 9:30 am before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
