Waltham – Mr. Robert D. Fay, of Waltham, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at his home. He was 74.
Bob was born in Waltham on May 2, 1936, a son of the late Edward D. and Mary E. (Maher) Fay, and had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Waltham High School in 1954 and from Wentworth Institute in Boston. Until his retirement he worked as a draftsman at Draper Labs in Cambridge.
The husband of the late Elizabeth (Edmunds) Fay, he leaves his sisters and brother, Virginia A. O’Brien of Arlington, Mary A. Cronin, Priscilla Edmunds, both of Waltham and Gerald E. Fay of Montague, Prince Edward Island and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, January 27th, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
