Waltham – Attorney Robert S. Flynn, of Waltham, died Monday, August 3, 2020 at Sunrise of Wayland following a period of declining health. He was 92.
Bob was born in Weston, a son of the late Paul and Alice (Fahy) Flynn, and was a graduate of Saint Sebastian's School, then in Newton.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Boston College in 1951 and after that joined the United States Navy where he served as a lieutenant aboard the USS Taconic, an Adirondack class amphibious force command ship, during the Korean War.
Following his discharge he attended Boston College Law School and graduated in 1958. For the next fifty plus years he practiced law in Waltham where his affable personality and capable skills earned many admirers in the legal community and beyond.
Bob lived in Weston and in Wayland for many years before moving to Waltham in 2006. He was also an accomplished golfer and longtime member of Weston Golf Club.
He was the husband of the late Ann D. (Campbell) Flynn, father of the late Amy D. Flynn-Bancroft and a brother of the late Roger, Paul and Peter Flynn.
He leaves his sister, Andrea McCarthy of Miami, Florida.
A private Funeral Mass for Bob will be celebrated in Saint Julia's Church and burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
