Robert C. Gettings

Waltham - Mr. Robert C. Gettings, of Waltham, died Monday, July 24, 2017 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 62.

Born on March 4, 1955 in Fall River he was a son of the late John R. and Marjorie E. (Reagan) Gettings and graduated from Waltham High School. Bob was a self-employed painter throughout most of his life.

He leaves his daughters, Rose C. Gettings and Callie J. Gettings, both of Plymouth; his siblings, Judith A. Beck of Framingham, Thomas J. Gettings of Carmichael, California and Eileen E. Volz and her husband, Charles of Fleming Island, Florida; his former wife, Mary C. (O'Keefe) Gettings of Pittsfield and many nieces & nephews.

Robert was also a brother of the late Kathleen Arsenault, Marilyn Goode and Allan Gettings.

Family and friends will honor and remember Robert's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, August 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial is private.
