Robert O. Harnett

Milford - Mr. Robert O. Harnett, Jr., of Milford, formerly of Waltham died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was 50.

Rob was born on May 28, 1966, the son of the late Robert and Martha A. (Webster) Harnett. He was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High in 1984.

A member of the IBEW Local #2323 he had worked as a lineman for Verizon for over twenty years. Rob loved attending Grateful Dead concerts, hunting and fishing in both Maine and in New Hampshire and supporting his beloved Boston sports teams.

Rob leaves his wife, Karen M. (Dempsey) Harnett; his children, Michael J. and Abigail E. Harnett, both of Milford; his sisters, Kimberlee A. Harnett of Boston and Gian McMahon and her husband, Gregory, of Framingham; his father and mother-in-law, John and Joan Dempsey of Waltham; his sister-in-law, Kathryn Dempsey of Waltham; his niece and nephews, Amanda and Aidan Wenckus and David Prouty; his uncle and his aunt, David Webster and Dorothy Wenning and his cousins, Peter and Andrew Webster and Scott, Karen and Chris Wenning.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rob's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), WALTHAM on Thursday, June 30th from 4 to 8 pm. and again at 9 am on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will be private.
