Waltham Mr. Robert J. Bob Hughes of Waltham, formerly of Watertown, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 68. He was the husband of Catherine H. (Dunlea) Hughes for the past forty years. Born and raised in Watertown, a son of the late Walter and Winifred (Beohner) Hughes, he was a graduate of Watertown High School. Bob was the founder of Hughes Enterprises, a company that built self-service car washes. Bob was a boating enthusiast and had been a member and past commodore of the Watertown Yacht Club. He skippered a ship berthed in Watertown called the Bobcat. He was also a fan of hot rod racing and had been a member of the Tyrods. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Elizabeth J. Hughes of Malden, Robert J. Hughes, Jr. of Melrose and Suzanne M. Hughes of Waltham; one brother, C. Arthur Hughes of Wayland and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Monday in Christ Episcopal Church, 750 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham.
