Waltham – Mr. Robert C. Kizik, of Waltham, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Framingham Union Hospital. He was 75.
Bob was born in Cambridge on December 26, 1938, a son of the late Joseph and Olivia (Taurinsky) Kizik. He was raised in Brighton and was a graduate of Brighton High School.
Following his marriage to Barbara M. Bubluski in Saint Columbkille's Church in Brighton the couple moved to Waltham where they lived in the Lakeview neighborhood since 1961. Bob loved caring for his home where he kept a flourishing vegetable garden and where he nurtured his love of classic cars and trucks, including a 1932 Ford pick-up and his favorite, a fully restored 1956 Chevy Bel-Air coupe.
Until his retirement he worked as a crane operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 4.
Bob's wife, Barbara, died March 15, 1995.
He leaves his children, Robert C. Kizik, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Waltham and Debora C. Kizik of Marlborough; his brothers, Joseph Kizik of Milford and Richard Kizik of Framingham and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was the brother of the late Edward Taurinsky.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering on Wednesday, October 8th in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
