Waltham – Mr. Robert P. Langley, of Waltham, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Belmont Manor Nursing Center. He was 75.
Bob was born in Brighton on August 7, 1935, a son of the late Joseph and Vera (Breen) Langley and had lived in Watertown before moving to Waltham sixty years ago. He was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Waltham.
Until his retirement in 1998 Bob was an independent distributor for forty-two years for the H.P. Hood Company. Generations of families from Waltham and surrounding towns looked forward to seeing Bob’s milk truck turn into the driveway where he always offered the best products with a smile and a genuine interest in his customers. He also spent countless hours being involved with his wife in all of their children’s and grandchildren’s activities in school, on the field or on the court.
Bob leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Carole J. (Quagliozzi) Langley; his children, Robert P. Langley, Jr. and his wife, Darlene, of Reading, Brian J. Langley and his wife, Elizabeth, of Medway, Gary S. Langley and his wife, Joan, of Manchester, New Hampshire and Ellen M. Kruk and her husband, Paul, of New Bern, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Erika, Ryan, Brian, Michael, Jennifer and Michelle Langley and Tyler and Jordan Kruk; his brother, John Langley of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the grandfather of the late Shawn Langley and a brother of the late Edna Bennett.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, October 18th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
