Framingham – Mr. Robert M. "Red" Pollock, of Framingham, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 at his home. He was 86.
Red was born in Worcester on March 28, 1936, a son of the late Robert and Leonie (Bertrand) Pollock, and was raised in Weston. He was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and Boston College. He later earned a Master's degree in Education from B.C.
As a young man he went into business with his older brother, Dave, and together they ran Pollock Brothers Tree Service in Weston for decades. Well known in their field the brothers were expert arborists and guardians of the environment.
Red had a wide variety of interests. He loved to travel and was an entertaining story teller. He enjoyed spending time in Vermont and at home became a talented cook, gardener and bee keeper.
He leaves his children, Cara Lamakina (Kiryl Lamakin) of Framingham and Tia Pollock of Waltham; his grandchildren, Sasha and Daria Lamakina and many nieces, nephews and their families including Lori Marino, Mark Pollock, Chris Owens, John Pollock and Stephen Pollock.
Red was also a brother of the late Roma Pollock, David Pollock, Martin Pollock, Josephine Muller and Julie Peerzada.
Family and friends will honor and remember Red's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, June 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
