Waltham – Mrs. Roberta M. (Muise) Despres, of Waltham, died at home on July 3rd, surrounded by her family. She was 53.
Roberta was born in Waltham on August 16, 1959, a daughter of Robert "Tim" Muise and the late Mary Evelyn (Clarkin) Muise. She was a lifelong Waltham resident and had worked for over twenty years at ADP in Waltham.
Shortly after graduating from Waltham High School in 1977 she married her neighborhood sweetheart, Bernard J. Despres. Bernie and Roberta loved camping and they spent eighteen happy years at Lake Manchaug with their boys. During their time spent there they made many life-long friends. Roberta had a heart of gold and loved to entertain her family at their cottage in Charlton. In Charlton they could often be found tubing, jumping from the dock and cruising around in their boat enjoying life.
She leaves her husband of thirty-four years, Bernard J. Despres; her son Jason P. Despres; her father Robert "Tim" Muise of Mendon; her siblings, Barbara A. Round and her husband, Norman, of Mendon, Roy J. Muise and his wife, Kathy, of Medway and Timothy P. Muise of Brockton and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Bernard J. Despres, Jr.
Family and friends will honor and remember Roberta's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, July 7th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:15 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
