Waltham - Mr. Robertson A. Goodwin, of Waltham, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in the Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington. He was 87. Born in East Boston, Mr. Goodwin had lived in Canada before moving to Waltham in 1953. He was a shipper/receiver for the Raytheon Company in Quincy for forty years until his retirement. Mr. Goodwin was a World War II veteran who served with the United States Army. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1018 in Waltham and enjoyed playing bingo and secret word puzzles. Mr. Goodwin was also an avid clock collector. He was the husband of the late Christine M. (McGonigle) Goodwin; the son of the late Angus and Hildred (Newell) Goodwin; and the brother of the late Herbert Goodwin, Elizabeth Gorham, and Mildred Harding. He is survived by his sisters, Lydia Ross, Blanche Nickerson, and Edith Atwood all of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia; his brothers, Clarence Goodwin of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Clinton Goodwin of Ontario, and Angus Goodwin of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia; his goddaughter, Mary Jo Vasquezi of Waltham and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Monday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
