Rodrigo A. Maurillo

Waltham - Mr. Rodrigo A. Maurillo, of Waltham, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Epoch Healthcare Center in Weston. He was 64.

Rodrigo was born in the Philippines on April 26, 1950, a son of Buenaventura and Esperanza (Almenario) Maurillo. He and his family settled in Waltham in the 1980s. He had worked as a landscaper before becoming interested in nutrition. Rodrigo became a dietary aide at the Fairlawn Nursing Center in Lexington and, most recently, at the Sunrise Nursing Center in Burlington.

He enjoyed traveling with his friends all over the United States and was known for his great sense of humor.

Rodrigo is survived by his siblings, Estelita Sabijon, Sofia Maurillo and Marcelina Salvador, all of Waltham, Isabel Walsh of Hampton, New Hampshire, Zenaida Albarico and her husband, Rodolfo, of Tewksbury, and Adolfo Maurillo of the Philippines; his nieces and nephews, Ruby and Franz Bayog, Luzviminda, Carl, Ryan, and Dindo Maurillo, and Raymond Albarico and his sister-in-law, Nila Maurillo.

He was also the brother of the late Bienvenido Maurillo and brother-in-law of the late Rolando Sabijon.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rodrigo's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20) Waltham on Sunday, March 1st, from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
