Waltham - Mr. Roger J. Bourque, of Waltham, died Friday, February 14, 2020 in the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln. He was 84.
Roger was born in Beaumont, New Brunswick on April 29, 1935, a son of the late Irenée and Edmée (Richard) Bourque. He moved to Waltham more than sixty years ago.
Roger was a talented carpenter and builder and was the proprietor of B&B Construction in Waltham. He was the kind of a guy who not only had the tools, but knew how to use them. Friends and family were often the beneficiaries of his handiwork.
Roger's pride and joy was designing and building a home for his family on the shores of Pawtuckaway Lake in Raymond, New Hampshire. He spent many happy afternoons boating and by night serenaded the clan with his guitar.
He was also a close follower of the Bruins, Red Sox and NASCAR.
Roger leaves his wife of sixty years, Nelida (Melanson) Bourque; his children, Roger J. Bourque, Jr. (Patty) of Waltham, Mark J. Bourque (Kathy Gurley) of Marlborough and Debra A. Sullivan (Robert) of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, William Bourque, Michelle Ricci, Kelly Bourque, Daniel Sullivan, Hannah Sullivan, and Emma Sullivan; his great-grandson, Nathan Ricci; and nieces and nephews. Roger was also the brother of Francis Bourque, Doris Richard, Rosella Miller and Alfreda Bourque.
Family and friends will honor and remember Roger's life by gathering to visit on Saturday morning, February 22nd from 10:30 to 12 in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where his funeral service will be held at 12 noon.
