Boston – Attorney Ronald F. Kehoe, of Boston, formerly of Concord and Medford, died peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 77.
Ron was born in Medford on January 31, 1938, a son of the late William A. and Josephine (Crowley) Kehoe and was educated in the Medford Public Schools. He graduated from Medford High School in 1955 as the class valedictorian. After that he enrolled at Dartmouth College where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1959.
In 1962, Ron graduated from Harvard Law School where he was vice-president of the Harvard Voluntary Defenders. The same year he was admitted to practice by the Massachusetts Bar and before the U.S. Supreme Court. For almost forty years he had a distinguished career in private law practice.
In 2001 after retiring from private practice, he chose to devote his later years to public service. Ron joined the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial and Administrative Law Divisions where he worked part-time until his death.
He leaves his wife of more than fifty years, Frances (Gaeta) Kehoe; his children, Julia E. Kehoe of Boston and Dr. Laura G. Kehoe and her husband, Eric F. Maillis, of Watertown; his grandchildren, Cecelia M., Oliver K., and Isaac J. Maillis and many loving family members including brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
Ron was also the brother of the late William F. Kehoe.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ronald's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday, October 2nd in Saint Raphael's Church, 512 High Street, West Medford where his Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Ron's family extends heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary care that he received from his many doctors, nurses, and staff at Massachusetts General Hospital.
