Ronald F. Price

Mr. Ronald F. Price (“Ron”), of Newton, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 85.

Ron was born in New York City, the son of the late Naomi Price Mitchell. He graduated from English High in Boston. He continued his studies at Suffolk University where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business Administration degrees while going to school at night.  After 41 years at Polaroid he enjoyed a second career as a Vice President at Wellington Management in Boston until his retirement. 

Family was most important to Ron. He enjoyed hosting gatherings at his Brewster home on Cape Cod. He was a member of the Brewster Captains Golf Course. He was known to enjoy a fine Chardonnay while listening to his jazz favorites; Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan. He loved watching British mysteries. Health and fitness were important to Ron and he was most proud of being a long time member of the “Early Riser” group at the West Suburban YMCA in Newton.

Some of Ron’s favorite travel destinations were St. Maarten, Seattle, Vancouver and Washington DC.  He spent his winters in Florida on Longboat Key.

He leaves his wife, Nancy A. (Keane) of Newton, his children, Dennie Butler-MacKay of Jamaica Plain, Ronald F. Price, Jr. of Boylston, and Greg J. Price of Framingham, and his grandchildren, Jessica Butler, Nathan MacKay, Najaya MacKay, and Amalia Price. 

Ron will be remembered as a man who lived his life with dignity and style. 

Family and friends are invited to honor Ron by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Saturday, January 28th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery, Newton.
