Waltham – Mrs. Rosanne (Monahan) Craig, of Waltham, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at her home. She was 92.

Rosanne was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Isabelle A. (Kelly) Monahan. She was raised in Watertown and in Waltham and was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham.

In 1949 she married John R. Craig in Saint Mary's Church in Waltham. She and her husband, then in residency in pediatric medicine, lived in Maryland and in California for a short time before settling in Waltham where they raised their family of nine children and where Dr. Craig established his medical practice.

The Craig's were founding members of Saint Jude Church where Rosanne was a longtime member of the parish Ladies Sodality and the choir. Always one to stay busy she became an accomplished painter at the age of eighty.

Her husband, John, died May 28, 1996.

Rosanne leaves her children, Elizabeth A. Craig, Anne Craig and her husband, Robert Bond, Carol Craig Nee and her husband, Ted, Jane Craig, Rosanne Craig, John Craig and his wife, Sheryl, Francis Craig and his wife, Soledad Valenciano, and Rita Craig Smith and her husband, Stephen; her grandchildren, Julia Rob and Stephanie Bond, Hampton and Jonathan Short, Ryan, Nick, John, Alexandria and Mary Craig and Elizabeth and Edward Smith; her sister, Isabelle Kane; her sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and John Davey and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Mary Craig and a sister of the late Marita Kubek and Sarah Corcoran.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rosanne's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, February 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
