Waltham- Mr. Rosario N. Palumbo of Waltham died Sunday, February 29, 2004 in his home. He was 82. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Nicholas and Filomena (Mucci) Palumbo, Mr. Palumbo was a painter and a foreman for Fantegrossi Painting Company in Needham for more than forty years, until his retirement. Mr. Palumbo attented the Waltham Public Schools, was a member of the Waltham V.F.W.; a member of the North Waltham Seniors and a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Palumbo was the brother of the late Joseph Palumbo, Rose Palumbo, and Colleen Dion. He is survived by his wife, Catherine M. (McKinley) Palumbo, his children Richard N. Palumbo and his wife Elizabeth, of Leominster, Patricia A. Terrasi and her husband David, of Billerica, Kathleen M. Roehmboldt and her husband Wade, of East Cornith, VT, Deborah L. Flanagan and her husband Patrick, and James J. Palumbo and his wife Linda, all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Brande, Wade, Dennis, Lisa, David, Christine, Jamie, and Jackie; his step-grandchildren, Steven, Andrea, Michael, Matthew; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
