Salem, New Hampshire – Mrs. Rose V. (Turco) Calabufalo, of Salem, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at her home. She was 85.
Rose was born in Franklin on April 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Antonio and Elvena (Pierrie) Turco and had lived in Waltham for fifty-seven years before moving to Salem in 2003. Until her retirement she worked for 20 years at Joseph's II Restaurant in Waltham. In her later years Rose began traveling on cruises with family and friends including a Caribbean cruise marking her 80th birthday with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and occasional trips to Foxwoods.
The wife of the late Ernest Calabufalo, she leaves her children, Joyce A. Foley and her husband, William, of Sandown, New Hampshire and Debra M. David and her husband, Paul, of Salem, New Hampshire, with whom she made her home; her grandchildren, Kristin Kean, Kevin and David Foley, Amy Pomerleau, Brian Calabufalo and Sabrina and Matthew David; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Ferro, Ryan and Stephen Young, Michael and Abigail Foley and Brian Calabufalo, Jr.; her brother and sister, Anthony Turco of Haverhill and Phyllis Miraglia of Woburn and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was also the mother of the late Robert E. Calabufalo and a sister of the late Salvatore 'Lee' Turco and Dotty Mammolette.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rose's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, November 3rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
