Waltham – Mrs. Rose M. (Driscoll) Carr, of Waltham, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Newton. She was 81.
Rose was born in Dorchester on February 18, 1928, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (McQuade) Driscoll, and had lived in Waltham for more than fifty years. She was a graduate of the Chandler School and had worked for many years as a secretary at the Krebs School in Lexington. Rose was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church in Waltham.
The wife of the late Harold Carr, she leaves her children, Richard W. Carr and his wife, Eileen, of Waltham, Bruce A. Carr of Framingham and James L. Carr of Boston; her grandchildren, Alana, Julia, and Brendan; her sisters, Dolly Winchester of Schenectady, New York, Jackie Rainey of Peabody and Patricia Ruiz of Los Angeles, California and many nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late James Driscoll and Marilyn Dybes.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rose's life by gathering for calling hours on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.
