Mrs. Rose M. (Ouellette) Cormier, of Waltham, died peacefully on September 23, 2021. She was 89 years old.
Rose was born in Waltham on February 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Clarence and Edmee (Cormier) Ouellette, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.
Until her retirement, Rose worked for the Raytheon Company in Waltham and in Norwood where she made many lifelong friends. She and her late husband, Jerry, belonged to the French-American Victory Club in Waltham. She was an avid bowler and card player and enjoyed being with her friends at the club's Bingo night.
Rose and her husband were members of Saint Jude Parish and before that were lifelong members of Saint Joseph's Parish on Main Street.
The beloved wife of the late Gerald L. 'Jerry' Cormier, she leaves her children, Claude Cormier of Billerica, Geraldine Barter of Waltham, Martin Cormier (Sheryl Rudis) of Methuen, Richard Cormier (Debbie) of Billerica, Louis Cormier (Bonnie) of Waltham, Eugene Cormier (Arlene) of Fitchburg, Janice Caissie of Pepperell, Maurice Cormier of Billerica and Deanna Arseneau (Raymond) of Maynard; her brother, John Ouellette of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was also the sister of the late Delia Colangelo and Edna Arsenault.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rose's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, September 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
